The report states, “While some core elements remain in the traditional Lawson S3 architecture, it has written the new strategic HCM solution in its Java-based Landmark development environment to achieve higher levels of flexibility and usability, as well as to add more multinational capabilities.” Forrester also wrote “Lawson Software also has recently added workforce management functionality via an acquisition, which is currently best-suited for the healthcare vertical, although Lawson Software is planning to expand this time and attendance solution to a broader client base.”

The Forrester Wave report evaluated seven human resource management system (HRMS) vendors across 104 criteria, including the vendors’ current HRMS offerings, product and technology strategy and vision, strategic alliances and market presence.

“Lawson Strategic Human Capital Management is well-suited to meet the needs of both multinational and midsize enterprises worldwide,” said Larry Dunivan, senior vice president of global Human Capital Management products for Lawson. “Our positioning in this report reflects Lawson’s strategic approach in delivering the talent management functionality organizations require to drive real business outcomes, as well our deep understanding of the unique HR challenges for the markets we serve.”

To evaluate HRMS vendors, Forrester used a combination of three data sources to assess each of the seven vendors’ products: vendor surveys, product demos and customer reference calls. Forrester scored each product by each criterion against a consistent scale for all products, using a customizable weighting scale. This score was then used to develop the high-level summary of the vendors’ product strengths and weaknesses, along with the final evaluation report.

The Lawson Strategic Human Capital Management System is designed to help organizations strategically manage, develop and retain employees and improve the ability to identify and develop top talent and emerging leaders. By identifying and optimizing talent, organizations can be better positioned to maximize employee effectiveness and efficiency, and drive improved profitability.
