ADP NAMED TO “COMPANIES THAT CARE HONOR ROLL” FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR

National Award Underscores Companyâ??s Dedication to Employees and Communities

ROSELAND, N.J. (March 19, 2009) – Automatic Data Processing, Inc. (ADP ®), a leading provider of business outsourcing solutions, has been selected for the prestigious Companies that Care Honor Roll, for the second consecutive year. This award honors companies that exhibit 10 characteristics, which demonstrate a commitment to its employees and their communities.

“We are very pleased to be recognized for this honor. It highlights our commitment to our associates and their local communities,” said Gary Butler, President and CEO of ADP. “As representatives of ADP, it is fundamental that our associates work in an environment that promotes professional development and encourages charitable activity. These are the characteristics that enable ADP to attract, engage, and retain the best talent to serve our clients.”

The Honor Roll is determined by the Center for Companies That Care, a national, not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for employees and communities. ADP, like the other companies named to the list, excels in the 10 Companies That Care Characteristics, which include: supporting work/life balance for associates, providing a great work environment and competitive compensation and benefits, and supporting company involvement in the community.

ADP’s commitment can be seen through a variety of internal and external programs including:

* Competitive compensation, benefits and work/life balance initiatives
* Comprehensive training and online interactive programs for employees at all levels, fostering continuous learning
* Support of charitable organizations through its workplace giving campaign including United Way, the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, and Community Health Charities as well as through its Matching Gifts program, volunteerism, and additional fundraising and drives
* Launch of a major, long-term, strategic commitment to Go Green, which included a $3 million power consumption reduction

In addition, ADP will participate in the annual Terrific Tales Book Drive from March 19 to April 17, in conjunction with the CAREDAYS(TM) program, a month-long national initiative to engage individuals and employers in activities that encourage reading. The book drive will provide high-quality books and materials to less-advantaged school libraries to promote more reading opportunities for children.

“ADP exemplifies what it means to be part of the Companies That Care Honor Roll because of its dedication to its employees and the community,” said Marci Koblenz, cofounder and president of the Center for Companies That Care. “We’re proud to honor companies such as ADP for their achievements in driving a caring workplace.”

Honor Roll selections are determined by an independent panel of veteran professionals from a variety of industries. For more information on the Honor Roll and its winners, please visit www.companies-that-care.org.
