Ceridian Awards 15 Scholarships to New Undergraduates

MINNEAPOLIS (August 08, 2007) – Every year Ceridian Corporation awards several scholarships to employees’ children who are attending nonproprietary vocational-technical schools or accredited two or four-year colleges. The Ceridian Scholarship Program is designed to assist and encourage students in their pursuit of higher education. This year, 15 scholarships were awarded. The amount of the awards ranged from $1,000 to $3,000, and may be renewed for up to three years.

The scholarship program benefits Ceridian employees, their families and the communities in which Ceridian employees live and work. Programs that contribute to the well-being of employees’ families directly support Ceridian’s goal of creating a rewarding work environment. Ceridian congratulates the students who have been selected this year, and looks forward to following their successes as they continue their education.

This year’s scholarship recipients include:

Mimi Abitbol is a 2003 graduate of Herzliah High School in Ville St. Laurent, Quebec and will be attending Concordia University in Montreal, where she will be pursuing a degree in Political Science. Mimi is the daughter of Ceridian parent Rachel Ittah, Laval Quebec, Canada.

Darlita Beach is a 2007 graduate of Gibbs High School in St. Petersburg, Fla., and will be attending the University of Florida in Tallahassee, majoring in Pharmacy. Darlita is the daughter of Ceridian parent Darla Beach, St. Petersburg, Fla.

Chelsey Borte is a 2007 graduate of Boca Ciega High School in Gulfport, Fla and will be attending Florida State University in Tallahassee, majoring in Studio Arts. Chelsey is the daughter of Ceridian parent Shelley D. Ulmer, Pinellas Park, Fla.

Sarah E. Caldwell is a 2007 graduate of Grangier High School in West Valley City, Utah and will be attending Salt Lake Community College in Salt Lake, majoring in paraeducation. Sarah is the daughter of Ceridian parent Anne Lise Caldwell, West Valley City, Utah.

Kelsey L. Conover is a 2007 graduate of Keystone National High School in Blomsburg, Penn. and will be attending St. Petersburg College in St. Petersburg, Fla., pursuing a paralegal degree. Kelsey Kelsey is the daughter of Ceridian parent Brenda J. Conover, St. Petersburg, Fla.

Sarah Gaston is a 2007 graduate of Irvin High School in El Paso, Texas and will be attending the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Penn., majoring in Graphic Design. Sarah is the daughter of Ceridian parent Patricia A. Gaston, El Paso, Texas.

Deja S. Gorman is a 2007 graduate of Chichester High School in Boothwyn, Penn. and will be attending Millersville University of Pennsylvania in Millersville, majoring in Speech Pathology. Deja is the daughter of Ceridian parent Cheryl E. Gorman, Aston, Penn.

Nathan A. Haney is a 2007 graduate of Franklin Classical High School in Franklin, Tenn. and will be attending Belmont University in Nashville, pursuing a degree in English. Nathan is the son of Ceridian parent Mark A. Haney, Nashville, Tenn.

Joseph P. Kolb, Jr. is a 2004 graduate of Lexington Catholic High School in Lexington, Ky. and will be attending Transylvania University in Lexington, pursuing a degree in Biology. Joseph is the son of Ceridian parent Joseph P. Kolb, Louisville, Ky.

Tara A. Ladlie is a 2007 graduate of Troy Buchanan High School in Troy, Mo., and will be attending the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, pursuing a degree in Biochemistry. Tara is the daughter of Ceridian parent Dan R. Ladlie, Grantsburg, Wis.

Courtney C. Mahoney is a 2007 graduate of Norcross High School in Norcross, Georgia and will be attending Valdosta State University in Valdosta Ga., pursuing a degree in Biology. Courtney is the daughter of Ceridian parent Carolyn M. Glenn, Norcross, Ga.

Nicholas Marino is a 2005 graduate of J.W. Mitchell High School in New Port Richey, Fla. and will be attending the University of Central Florida in Orlando, pursuing a degree in Information Systems Technology. Nicholas is the son of Ceridian parent Rose Marino, Holiday, Fla.

Dawnise L. Murphy is a 2007 graduate of Ocean View High School in Huntington Beach, Calif., and will be attending Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina, pursuing a degree in English. Dawnise is the daughter of Ceridian parent LaTonja D. Melton, Huntington Beach, Calif.

Lucy J. Smith is a 2007 graduate of Westcliff High School for Girls in Southend-On-Sea, Essex, United Kingdom and will be attending the University of Exeter in Exeter, England, pursuing a degree in Geography. Lucy is the daughter of Ceridian Parent: John K. Smith, Leigh-On-Sea, Essex, England.

Ashlyn E. Wedde is a 2007 graduate of East Lake High School in Tarpon Springs, Fla., and will be attending the University of Florida in Gainesville, pursuing a degree in Engineering. Ashlyn is the daughter of Ceridian parent Wendy A. Wedde, Tarpon Springs, Fla.
