Lawson Software Introduces Lawson Resource Navigator
New on-demand workforce communications functionality enhances Lawson Employee and Manager Self-Service solution
ST. PAUL, Minn. (February 19, 2008) – Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN) today introduced Lawson Resource Navigator, a workforce communications tool that integrates with Lawson Employee and Manager Self-Service solutions, which are part of the Lawson S3 Human Capital Management application suite. Lawson Resource Navigator provides personalized, searchable content with greater context to individual employees’ HR transactions, such as benefits enrollment, through Lawson self-service tools. Lawson Resource Navigator was created in partnership with Enwisen, a leading provider of workforce communications applications.
This enhanced functionality can help Lawson customers better manage healthcare costs, retain top talent, and provide better content and context surrounding work/life events to their employees and managers. The new solution set includes four modules:
Employee Resource – This module provides on-demand access to personalized information about organizational policies, procedures and benefit plans, which can help employees better understand items like time-off policies, education reimbursement and benefit plan options.
Manager Resource – This module helps provide fast answers through searchable company-specific handbooks coupled with best practices to help managers execute on company policies more fairly, consistently and accurately.
HR Professional – This module helps promote compliance for HR staff in managing daily HR activities by providing access to regulatory information, issue-specific guides, legal summaries and even weekly updates on relevant industry news and trends.
Total Compensation Statement – This module helps provide employees with a more dynamic view of their total compensation package, with modeling tools that allow employees to do a variety of “what if” scenarios for key elements of their compensation packages. By providing this kind of information to employees, companies can help employees better understand their company’s total financial commitment to them while helping to improve employee retention and participation in 401(k), EAP, ESPP and other voluntary programs.
Mercy Health System, the largest Catholic healthcare system serving the Delaware Valley area and a member of Catholic Health East, is among the first customers to implement an integrated solution from Lawson and Enwisen. The organization sought to deliver relevant information to its 6,500 employees online, ultimately helping to free up resources to focus on more strategic activities.
“At Mercy Health System, we wanted to create a dynamic HR portal that would allow our employees to manage all of their work/life events 24/7,” said Christiane Schmidt, senior director, Benefits & HRIS, Mercy Health System. “To accomplish this, we knew we would require not just a powerful HCM and self-service platform, but also the personalized content and decision support tools needed to complete transactions – without third-party intervention from HR. Lawson Human Capital Management and self-service solutions, integrated with the Lawson Resource Navigator, is the comprehensive solution that can engage our workforce with a content-in-context self-service experience.”
“Companies need to continually find ways to better serve the needs of employees and HR staff,” said Larry Dunivan, vice president of Global Human Capital Management Products for Lawson. “By delivering more powerful, secure and useful employee self-service tools, combined with personalized content and decision support, companies can help free up HR resources to focus on more strategic initiatives while delivering services that can help improve employee satisfaction – which can ultimately help improve employee retention.”
